Facebook says can't connect right now SOLVED

If you are having Facebook app on your Android phone and are frustrated after the recent updates because you can't refresh your news feed, open any page or profile and the app keeps on saying Can't connect right now Retry.
Well then here is a solution for you.(It worked for me.)

Drag the Facebook app icon from the app drawer to top of the screen where it says App Info.

Just click on force stop and now open the Facebook app.

Wolla now you are happy to go....

Hope this works for you....

  1. It doesn't work for me. It allows FB to log out properly ok. I then log into facebook again ok but when I try to log out again it does the same thing. I have to do the force stop every time I want to use facebook. Very annoying.

    2. Opt in for the beta on the play store and it should fix it, if you find it annoying to keep closing it this helps hopefully.

    3. Open the app, you should have 2 profile pictures, try clicking the top one, I can now view my timeline at last, I'd also turned off my battery saving mode, it may work.

Give it a try it worked for me..

    1. On the app, at top of news feed tap the three lines, scroll down to app settings, tap that, scroll down to clear phones browser, after that there shouldn't be any issues. I just tried this and so far smooth sailing. Hope that helps you as well.

  6. Same issue with me. Disabled power saving mode, reinstalled the app, force stopped, etc. Nothing works. Marshmallow is causing major sync problems to Verizon email as well. Highly frustrating.

  11. I'm having the same issues on my Samsung Gallaxy S6. Spend a bunch of time with Verizon tech support and then Samsung support. Everything they tried did not fix. Basically they are saying I have to mail my phone to a Samsung Service Center (3 hours from where I live in a different state) to have them reload the software. Are you kidding me? What do we pay big bucks for these phones then they force us to load buggy updayes that make the phone basically unusable???? So MAD! I'm going with iPhone after this!

  12. The only thing I have found that works, for awhile, is deleting the facebook app from the phone and downloading it again

  13. Just clear data from applications manager and it will work just fine

  14. Monica Slaughter's recommendation worked for me. Go into Facebook's settings, App Settings, "clear your phone's browsing data." Resolved the issue entirely for me.

  17. I think it's nothing to do with your OS (marshmallow, lollipop, etc...)

because back in gingerbread untill now im in lollipop, im still experiencing this problem from time to time.

And my fix is to UPDATE my Facebook app.

Sometimes, I UNINSTALL the fb app, using Cleanmaster 3.7.0 (best version for me) to clean residues of the app before going to PLAYSTORE to download a fresh NEW FB.

Hope, my own fix could help someone experiencing the same ANNOYING problem....

P.S. Yes, I can uninstall/remove any app from my device, especially those BLOATWARES! I have to do it because i love playing games, i have 20 game apps installed and 5 emus. hihihi :) Thanks for reading..

Settings, Battery, Battery Usage, More, Optimize Battery Usage, Select drop down and choose all apps, disable the optimization for apps not working. I also turned off power saving mode and then restarted my phone.
